Stand-up comedy at Painshill

Stand-up comedy in the Walled Garden 2021

This event has now ended. View details for Painshill’s ‘Stand-up comedy in the Walled Garden’ in 2022: click here

Painshill has teamed up with Crack Comedy to bring you a season of stand up this summer, sponsored by Grosvenor Billinghurst.

Join us Tuesday nights from 1st June for a top range of acts you might have seen off the telly – and comedians you might not have heard of (yet!). The nights feature the likes of Milton Jones, Rich Hall, Nina Conti, Shappi Khorsandi and Andy Parsons + many more. See below for full listings.

The show will be outside in Painshill’s Walled Garden. The event will take place on the lawn where guests can easily social distance. Seating and cover cannot be provided but guests can bring blankets and chairs. Please do not bring gazebos or umbrellas as they will block other people’s view.

Guests are very welcome to bring picnics and non-alcoholic drinks. There will also be a fully-licensed bar available provided by Corks Occasions.

Please note, while we do everything we can to make sure our line-ups are accurate, there are life events that mean acts are subject to change without notice.

Shows will contain adult material and language and are only appropriate for those 18 and over.

Importance of Being Earnest

Outdoor theatre: The Importance of Being Earnest *SOLD OUT*

As part of Painshill’s Summer Series in the Walled Garden, Slapstick Picnic will perform The Importance of Being Earnest

Slapstick Picnic would like to cordially invite you to its inaugural summer tea party, where marvellous feats of performance and culinary capers await. Over tea and cucumber sandwiches, we ask that you prepare to witness the impossible – the entirety of Oscar Wilde’s classic play of manners, affairs and handbags being performed by just two rather dashing entertainers.

From the creators of The HandleBards comes a fantastically wild(e) new production, ripping up the recipe book and celebrating silliness. With Slapstick Picnic, you can have your cake and eat it.
