The Work to Restore and Protect Painshill
We are hugely grateful to all the individual supporters and charitable trusts who have made the recent projects possible.
Please help us continue the conservation and restoration work required to keep Painshill’s 18th century heritage alive, for future generations to enjoy.
The Woollett Bridge – 2022
The Woollett Bridge is the very latest project to be completed by the Painshill Park Trust.
The wooden structure was underwater when the landscape flooded in 2019 and again 2020. The beams began to rot and scaffolding was needed for many months to ensure visitor safety.
Our 40th anniversary appeal raised over £100,000 to replace the bridge in steel and ensure it a lasting future.
The pandemic survival campaign – 2020
During the first national lockdown in 2020 Painshill was forced to close to help save lives and stop the spread of COVID-19. Painshill was left in a very vulnerable position without ticket income.
Due to the generosity of the general public, our members, volunteers and trustees, Painshill survived.
The charity received a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and would like to thank all National Lottery players who made this possible.
