How do I become a member?
Memberships are available for purchase online, in person at the Visitor Centre, or by calling 01932 868 113.

Can I apply my paid admission to my membership if I decide to join?
Yes, you may apply a portion of your paid admission toward the cost of your membership within 30 days of your dated receipt/ ticket. The amount that you can apply depends on the category of your membership that you are purchasing. Unfortunately, at this time, we cannot apply for this credit online. Please call on 01932 868 113 and speak with our membership manager, or come to our Visitor Centre for specific details.

How many membership cards are issued per membership?
Only one card will be issued, per membership. If you wish to have 2 cards, please do let us know at the time of joining or renewal by calling us on 01932 868 113 or at the Visitor Centre.

When does my membership start from and expire?
We do not put start dates on membership cards only the expiry date. Your membership is valid for 1 year from the date you purchased it. You can always email memberships@painshill.co.uk or call 01932 868 113 if you like to start your membership from a particular date.

How many names can be put on my membership card?
With all membership types including joint and family, only one name will automatically be printed on your card. If you require two names (must be living at the same address) please call us on 01932 868 113 to make this request.

Do the primary and secondary cardholders need to live in the same household?
The 2 cardholders do not need to live in the same household, but the benefits of being a Painshill member extend to only those 2-named cardholders. Please keep in mind that all membership correspondence and mailings will be sent only to the primary cardholder.

Do you offer a membership for families with adult children?
Yes. A family membership usually allows admission to maximum 2 adults & up to 4 children but on special requests, we can make the same membership for max 3 adults & up to 2 children. One named cardholder must be present to gain access to the Gardens.

I am a person with a disability and need a carer to assist me with my visit. What do you recommend?
A personal carer accompanying a member with disabilities is able to gain access to our Gardens without being included in a membership. You may purchase any level of membership and visit our Gardens with your personal carer.

Do you have a Lifetime membership?
Yes. On special requests we can make a Lifetime membership. Unfortunately, at this time, we do not have a Lifetime membership available for purchase online or in the Visitor Centre. Please call 01932 868 113 to discuss your options with the membership manager.

If you recently purchased a membership, here is what to expect:

  • I joined online If you would like to visit Painshill soon, please bring your print at home temporary Membership confirmation (received via email) for quick and easy access to the Gardens. Permanent membership materials arrive within 10 working days.
  • I joined at the Visit Centre, by mail or phone: If visiting Painshill prior to receiving your membership pack in the mail, please stop by Visitor Centre and they will check your membership update on the system for quick and easy access. Permanent membership materials arrive within 10 working days

Can I change the name(s) on my membership after purchase?
You may change the name(s) on your membership at the time of renewal. If you just joined and wish to change the name(s) on your card, you must return all of your current membership cards to be issued cards with the new name(s).

Can I upgrade to a higher level of membership?
Yes. If you wish to upgrade you will be asked to submit the payment in full i.e. from Individual to Joint – £15, from Joint to Family – £20, from Individual to Family – £35. You will be given all benefits of the membership you have upgraded into. We will only extend your membership a full year from its current expiration date if you have upgraded within 1 month prior to your renewal date.

Can I downgrade to a different membership type?
The option to downgrade your membership type is available at your time of renewal.

What if I forget to bring my membership card when I come to visit Painshill?
Painshill members will be charged standard admission if they cannot display a valid membership card. Click here to view our admission prices.

What if my card is lost, stolen or defaced?
We will replace the card for an administration cost of £5.00. This can be processed at either the visitor centre or by contacting the Membership Team on 01932 868 113.

Can a membership be purchased as a gift?
Memberships make ideal gifts; these can be bought online, at the visitor centre or by contacting the Membership Team on 01932 868 113. To learn more, visit our ‘Give a Gift’ page.

Can I Gift Aid a membership?
You are able to Gift Aid on your membership if you are buying it for yourself. This is not possible if you are buying it on behalf of a friend, or as a gift.
