Ian Sampson JP
Ian Sampson was an Elmbridge Borough Councillor from 1974 until 1976. He voted in favour of the council purchasing the first tract of Painshill land and became a trustee of Painshill Park Trust in 1982. He spent his working career in the unit trust and investment fund management business, most enjoyably with Schroders, with funds based in various jurisdictions. He was a non-executive director and vice chairman of the Life Assurance and Unit Trust Regulatory Organisation and investment arbitrator for the Securities and Futures Authority. He retired from full time employment in 1993.
