West Horsley Place is a house of great historical and architectural importance. After 600 years of private and Royal ownership, the West Horsley Place Trust has opened the House for a wide range of activities and events to encourage links with heritage, creativity and nature. The talk will explore the remarkable history of the estate, the House and its inhabitants, and explain the Trust’s current and future plans.

After a career in central and local government, Ed became involved in local volunteer projects, especially those involving historic buildings. He has been a volunteer for some years at the National Trust property Leith Hill Place, which is the childhood home of the composer Ralph Vaughan Williams, and more recently at West Horsley Place, where he leads historical tours as well as getting involved in other projects such as conservation and architectural recording. Other interests include playing in a folk group and singing in choirs.
