Have a wild time this Easter holiday with campfires, bushcraft, wild art, den building and much more! Our Wild Easter Camp is the perfect way to have a fun-filled holiday, with three days of exciting outdoor adventures for children aged 8 to 13 years.
The Best Dens Ever! – Tuesday 3rd & Tuesday 10th April 2018
Explore the woods and take our leaders special “short-cuts” up and down secret paths and forgotten tracks to scout out the perfect woodland spot to build an amazing den. Let your imaginations run free, adding decorations, features, furniture and anything you can think of using natural materials and cord. Refuel by lighting your own fire with fire steels to toast marshmallows.
The Great Egg-scape, Easter Egg Hunt – Wednesday 4th & Wednesday 11th April 2018
Follow the clues and journey deep into the woods for a morning of egg-citing games and team challenges, finding the hidden Easter eggs. In the afternoon its campfire cooking time with treats including our very special campfire doughnuts and the chance to create your own refreshing “mocktail”.
Easter Bushcraft – Thursday 5th & Thursday 12th April 2018
Set up camp and build a survival shelter out of natural materials and rope. Just make sure it is waterproof! With our creative bushcraft day you will have the opportunity to use tools under 1:1 supervision with a Forest School and bushcraft trained instructor to make objects including mallets, tent pegs and games. You can also have a go at getting creative with willow, cord and wool, as well as chance to go foraging for spring herbs to cook with over the camp fire.
About our Camps
Wild Camps at Painshill are glorious, totally outdoor days spent in the forest and landscapes of Painshill – running, climbing, playing, making friends and developing practical woodland skills. We spend all day, every day outside, throughout the year, whatever the weather – and we love it! Just remember to bring lots of appropriate outdoor clothing and a big lunch. We have several contingency plans for rain or cold weather to make sure all attendees stay warm and safe, including our big outdoor shelter, tarps and mobile shelters, spare clothes and lots of hot chocolate and warming treats round the fire. An exciting programme of fun activities and themes are set for each day but we are responsive to young peoples’ interests, capabilities and needs, as well as encouraging child-led play and experiences. A big part of our camps is spent encouraging friend making and team work, so don’t worry if you are coming by yourself, there will be lots of opportunities for you to make friends.
Our camps our run by our highly experienced Education Team who spend the rest of the year leading outdoor school visits, Forest School, youth group activities and birthday parties. Our team are experienced in working with lots of different children, age groups and needs. Our team is First Aid trained, with specific training for children and the outdoors. If you have any questions about our camps, activities or if your child has any specific needs please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
