Discover details easily missed

Create memories together

Reconnect with nature, with family and friends, and with the simple pleasure of time outdoors. Picnic by the lake, feel the wind on your face, experience the textures of the landscape. Time spent together in nature is time well spent.

A landscape full of surprises

Grade I listed, Painshill is one of the finest surviving examples of the English Landscape Movement, a style of garden design that architectural historian Nikolaus Pevsner described as Britain’s greatest contribution to the visual arts.

Created in the 18th century by the Hon. Charles Hamilton, the landscape was designed to move and inspire, and to engage all the senses.

Today, Painshill invites a new generation of visitors to discover a landscape where taking your time reveals more at every turn.
