Map Seekers is an outdoor adventure session for children and adults, inviting young explorers to discover, interpret, and create maps inspired by the winding landscapes of Painshill. With its lakes, woodland paths, bridges, and hidden follies, the park becomes a living classroom for navigation, observation, and imagination.
Children are encouraged to see the landscape in a new way—learning how places can be represented, remembered, and reimagined. Rather than following a fixed route, they become mapmakers themselves, deciding what matters and how to show it.
Children might sketch winding paths, mark secret hideouts, or design fantasy maps inspired by the natural world around them. Every map tells a different story and reflects each child’s unique way of seeing the landscape.
Map Seekers builds confidence, spatial awareness, creativity, and problem-solving skills while encouraging children to engage deeply with the outdoors.
