At the ‘All Levels Drawing & Shading Class’ you will learn how to shade with artist, China Jordan. Taking inspiration from the iconic structures in the Painshill landscape. The session will look at the principles of drawing and how to make your artwork come to life with a mixture of mediums including charcoal, pencil & ink.

Whether you are new to drawing, or you have been practising for many years, this workshop is suitable for all levels of ability. You can choose to draw from real life or you can draw from the images provided of the beautiful follies in the Painshill landscape.

In this session you will look at how to perfect your own shading technique and apply that to a drawing of your choice.

Equipment needed: All materials will be provided, but if you wish to bring a drawing board, or any other dry mediums, please feel free to do so. There will be no facilities for cleaning painting equipment so please bring only dry mediums.

About China: China is a realistic artist specialising in portraiture, figurative art, and realistic art. Having studied at Wimbledon College of Art and trained with The Atelier of Realist Art Toronto, China has been exhibiting her work in London for a decade. Often commissioned for paintings & drawings, China focuses on bringing art back to people and creating engaging and inclusive workshops for all levels of abilities. China now runs her own creative company offering art classes for groups and private tuition as well as creating paintings for brands and businesses who understand the value of creativity and their workforce.

Location: The All Levels Drawing & Shading Class will take place on the Amphitheatre which is approx. 0.7K uphill walk from the Visitor Centre. View a map of Painshill here. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear.

This workshop is suitable for those aged 16 and over.
