Mr Hamilton’s Tea Room
Mr Hamilton’s Tea Room, in the Visitor Centre, offers a selection of seasonal freshly cooked breakfast and lunch options.
In addition, visitors can choose from pastries, cakes and snacks, as well as ice-cream.
Vegan and gluten free options available.
Choose from indoor or outdoor seating.
The Gothic Tower Summer Café
Our charming summer pop-up café can be found on the first floor of the Gothic Tower. Serving hot and cold drinks, as well as delicious cakes and snacks. Its is open throughout August Saturday & Sunday only.
Tea in the Tower
Step inside Painshill’s enchanting 18th-century Gothic Tower and enjoy an unforgettable afternoon tea in one of our most unique locations.
The historic tower provides an intimate and atmospheric setting for this a beautifully presented afternoon tea. Savour a selection of delicate finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam, handcrafted cakes and pastries, and savoury snacks, all served with your choice of fine teas or freshly brewed coffee.
After your tea, take time to explore Painshill’s Grade I listed landscape at your leisure, discovering winding paths, breathtaking views and picturesque follies.
Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for an extraordinary afternoon out, Afternoon Tea in the Gothic Tower is an experience to remember.
Please note: Afternoon Tea in the Tower is served on the third floor, which is accessed via a spiral staircase. If this may make the experience unsuitable for you or anyone in your party, please get in touch. We’d be delighted to discuss alternative locations where you can enjoy your afternoon tea.
Picnics
Picnics are very welcome at Painshill. Guests are allowed to bring along blankets and chairs. There are plenty of beautiful spots to sit on the meadows and lawns. Please note: fires and BBQs are prohibited.

Painshill Sparkling Wine
Produced from the grapes grown in the Vineyard and lovingly picked by our volunteers, Painshill Sparkling Wine is an exclusive product.
Our two acre vineyard only makes a small number of bottles and wine is not always in stock. Please call in advance if you are making a special visit.
Painshill Gin
In summer 2019 Painshill started making gin, in association with a local company, The Gin Kitchen Dorking. This unique product is flavoured with botanicals and fruits grown on site by the Painshill landscape team. The Kitchen Garden Gin is a refreshing summer taste made with lemon balm, rosemary and shredded rhubarb.
Our gin is made in small batches and is not always in stock. Please call in advance if you are making a special visit.
Painshill Honey
Harvested from bee hives located near the Keyhole Plantation, our honey is one of the most popular products in our Shop.
Produced by our resident bees throughout the season, each jar reflects the changing flowers in bloom, resulting in beautiful variations in colour and flavour. As honey production naturally varies throughout the year, we cannot always guarantee availability. Please call in advance if you are making a special visit.

Painshill is an award-winning 18th century landscape garden where you are invited to walk around a work of art. Winding paths will take you on a journey to discover a living canvas with beautiful vistas and dramatically placed garden buildings. Stroll around the Serpentine Lake, wander through woodland and promenade past follies, including the Ruined Abbey, Gothic Temple and Turkish Tent.
