Alan Titchmarsh, Patron of Painshill, awarded CBE

Congratulations to Painshill Patron, Alan Titchmarsh

The Painshill Park Trust is delighted that Painshill Patron, Alan Titchmarsh, has been recognised for a CBE, Commander of the Order of the British Empire, in the 2025 New Year Honours List for his years of dedicated service to horticulture and charity.

Alan was surprised to receive the award but says that he is “thrilled to bits”.

Alan was given his first honour in 2000 when he was made an MBE, Member of the Order of the British Empire. Alan said, “I’ve been an MBE for 25 years, so I kind of thought that was…I’ve been very happy with that.”

Alan says that his work in horticulture and charities “both thrill me equally” adding that “a lot of my charitable work is to do with horticulture”.

Alan has been Patron of the the Painshill Park Trust since 2022 and is an enthusiastic supporter of the important work of the Trust to restore and preserve Painshill for current and future generations. We are extremely grateful for Alan’s support of our small, independent charity and would like to congratulate Alan on this thoroughly deserved, momentous career milestone.
