Staying safe on your visit

Our COVID-19 precautions

Painshill has 160 acres of landscape to spread out in and enjoy!

We have a number of precautions in place to ensure our visitors are safe, especially in and around the Visitor Centre and indoor areas.

What we are doing to keep you safe

Controlling numbers. Day tickets are limited and controlled by online booking slots. We are currently not allowing any new annual members.

Providing hand sanitiser. Cleaning stations are located outside the Visitor Centre and Tea Room.

Keeping some areas closed. Currently the Gothic Tower remains closed.

Operating a take-away service in the Tea Room. Light bites, sandwiches, pastries, cakes and scones are available and we have a covered outdoor seating area.

What we need you to do

Book in advance. If you do not have a Painshill Membership or a Historic Houses membership you need to book in advance to visit Painshill. Please do not come without a booking or membership as we may have to turn you away.

Pay via contactless. We prefer a cashless payment where possible please.

Bring a mask. Our ticket desks are outside. However, to browse in the Gift Shop or go into the Tea Room you will need to wear a mask.

Take a look at the video below for a view of Painshill’s COVID-19 safety measures.

Things to See & Do

Painshill is an award-winning 18th century landscape garden where you are invited to walk around a work of art. Winding paths will take you on a journey to discover a living canvas with beautiful vistas and dramatically placed garden buildings. Stroll around the Serpentine Lake, wander through woodland and promenade past follies, including the Ruined Abbey, Gothic Temple and Turkish Tent.
