Abercorn Room talk delivered by Jan Clark
Thursday 3rd October 2019,
The long eighteenth century, as it became known, laid the foundations for today’s society. It also saw the creation of the one art form for which the English can lay sole claim – the English Landscape Movement. This talk will focus on the multitude of reasons that influenced the creation of these gardens – the fashion for which quickly spread throughout Britain and on to mainland Europe and North America.
Talks in the Abercorn Room occur on the first Thursday of every month. View all upcoming talks, guided tours and lectures here.
