About the speaker:
Nick Pollard is Chairman of Sunbury and Shepperton Local History Society, and Hon. Curator of Spelthorne Museum in Staines. He has been fascinated by history and archaeology all his life. He was brought up near Walton Bridge and is the author of a book about its history, published to mark the opening of the current bridge in 2013. Nick works full time in the aerospace industry, and in what remains of his spare time gives talks on history and is a keen gardener, as well as visiting museums, galleries and historic buildings.
