Celebrate World Book Day at Painshill 

Sunday 8th March 2020 

Free entry for children under 16!

Activities will include:

Fancy dress

Dress up as your favourite book character and explore Painshill. Painshill staff and volunteers will also be in costume. 

Face painting and balloon modelling

Add the finishing touch to your costume and have your face painted by About Faces. Or take home one of their weird and wonderful balloon creations. £3 per balloon model/face paint.

Interactive trail in the landscape

Follow a trail around the landscape and write your own unique story about Painshill.

Drop-in children’s crafts

Get creative with crafts inspired by reading and story telling.

Book reading by children’s authors Lorraine Piddington & Christina Spooner

Lorraine Piddington will be reading her two books, ‘The Aliens Who Loved Lemon Curd’ and ‘Pete From Pluto and His Perfect Pies’. Starting at 12.30pm in the Visitor Centre.

Christina Spooner will be returning to Painshill to read her book ‘Hedgy’, a story about a hedgehog who doesn’t like his prickles. Readings at 1.30pm, 2.00pm, 2.30pm, 3.00pm.

Book Exchange

Bring an old book with you and exchange it for a new book to enjoy.

Activities from 11am until 3pm. Painshill will be open to the public from 10am until 5pm (last entry 4pm).
