Restoration Project – Design a Structure
Students are asked to design an environmentally friendly garden building for Painshill. This challenging activity works through the whole design process from the initial brief to the final presentation of an architectural model. They will create a model of their structure and critically evaluate and modify their product against the specification. A particular focus will be on testing the influence of the product on the environment.
Restoration Project – Waterwheel & Grotto
Pupils will use scientific methodology and experimentation to solve the technological problems presented by Painshill’s Victorian Waterwheel—a unique water-powered pump engine – and the water systems in the Crystal Grotto. Pupils will experiment to discover the forces in play and design a technical solution.
