Two Day Beginners Photography Course
Day 1
We will guide you through the basic way in which a digital SLR camera works and go through each of its controls. We will concentrate on the effect the shutter speed has on our images and will also look at exposure metering and ISO settings. The day will be equally split with time in the classroom and taking images within the beautiful grounds of Painshill.
By the end of the day you will be able to identify and operate most of the camera controls and have a good understanding of how to freeze movement by proper control of the shutter speed. You will also have a good understanding of the camera metering system and be able to select the correct metering modes for the images you wish to capture.
Day 2
We will guide you through how the aperture affects our images; again the day will be equally split with time in the classroom and taking images within the grounds of Painshill. The last part of the day will be spent on downloading our images to a computer and some of the basic electronic enhancements we can make to prepare our images for printing.
At the end of day 2 you will have a good understanding of how the aperture affects our images in relation to depth of field. You will also be able to properly download your images to a computer, adjust brightness, contrast and colour and then crop the image ready for printing.
At the conclusion of the course you will be confident in taking control of your camera and you will be able to start to produce some excellent images that you will be proud to display.
A DSLR camera is required although we do have some loan cameras.
