The Story of Guildford

The first of these two entertaining films looks at the story of Guildford from a riverside settlement in the 5th Century to the modern University town of today.  The second charts the almost 40 years it took to build Guildford Cathedral from the founding of the Diocese of Guildford in 1927 to its consecration in 1961.
Using rare archive film, Circle Eight tells the story of the Cathedral showing the problems, delays and triumphs behind the construction of one of Guildford’s most magnificent buildings.
