Parking

There are signed disabled parking bays in the main visitor car park approx 200 metres from the admissions desk.

Admission
The admissions desk is accessible via a gradient ramp, and we admit a carer free of charge with every registered disabled person.
 

Landscape garden

Approximately  of the garden are accessible with some slopes.
The remaining
 of the gargen has steep slopes and grassland pathways.

Benches are provided throughout the garden.

The paths are made of tarmac, grass and gravel, and in some areas the surfaces can be uneven.

A map of the recommended accessible route is available to download or can be requested at the admissions desk when visiting.

 

Follies

 

The Grotto
At the entrance to the Grotto there are two steps down. The exit measures 69 centimetres at the narrowest point and access can be made via this route. During Grotto opening hours, if you wish to access the Grotto via the exit a guide is present to assist.  Please note the Grotto has limited opening times.

WCs

There is a unisex disabled toilet adjacent to the admissions desk.

Tearoom

Level entrance.

All seats and chairs are freestanding so that wheelchairs can be accommodated.  Staff will be happy to assist you with the menu and by bringing your meal to your table.

 

Guide Dogs

Service dogs are admitted into all facilities.

All dogs on a short lead are welcome.

 

Wheelchairs, Electric Buggies and Tours

Visitors may bring their own wheelchairs and electric buggies to use in the landscape garden.

 

A limited number of on loan manual wheelchairs are available free of charge and provided on a first come first served basis.
Please call us if you wish to pre-book this service prior to your visit.

 

Free of charge guided buggy tours for a maximum of three visitors are available for registered disabled persons (subject to availability). Please pre-book this service at least 7 days prior to your visit.

 

Audio tours are available.
