Gardeners' Diary July

July sees the flowers in the Temple of Bacchus and the Small Walled Garden exhibition coming to their peak. Here is one of the flower beds at the Temple of Bacchus site.

And here is the central flower bed in the Small Walled Garden.

Some of the American shrubs in the John Bartram Heritage Collection flower at this time of year.  Look out for the Amorpha fruticosa (False Indigo) in the lawn of the Chinese Bridge Peninsula Serpentine Walk, with its dark purple flowers.  By the end of July, the American perennials are beginning to show their flowers, like these Hydrangea arborescens.

And here is the Plant Theatre in the Small Walled Garden, displaying a range of exotic plants from around the world.
