Painshill Park was originally created in the eighteenth century by Charles Hamilton. His breathtaking vistas and charming follies have inspired generations of visitors, gardeners and landscape architects. The Park fell into dereliction after the Second World War through neglect. Painshill Park Trust was formed in 1981 to restore the park. To date, much of the Park and the follies have been restored. Crucially, this has only been possible through charitable donations from like-minded souls.
Would you like to help us restore Painshill Park?
Please call our Visitor Manager on 01932 868113 to discuss the details of your donation. Our most popular donations include:
Sponsor a Tree
Many of the trees you see today at Painshill Park were planted by Hamilton in the eighteenth century. The Great Cedar which overlooks the lake is one of the largest Cedar of Lebanon in Europe. The integrity of restoration is important. The Trust has undertaken detailed archive research to ensure that all new trees planted are faithful to Hamilton's original plans. Painshill Park Trust is a small registered charity. All tree planting is funded through charitable donations.
Sponsor a School Visit from Deprived Areas
We wish to ‘reach out’ to engage students and pupils from a diverse range of socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, and those with Special Needs. We believe that Painshill Park has an important role to play enriching the curriculum of these pupils.
Sponsoring a school trip help us offer very beneficial conditions to Schools with Special Needs or from Deprived Areas.
Dedicate a Georgian Bench
In dedicating a bench at Painshill Park, you will be contributing to the continued restoration of the Park, a magical place that will inspire many generations to come. Our benches are manufactured in Forestry Stewardship Council approved hardwood to an authentic Georgian design. The cost is £575, which includes a brass plaque with your chosen wording, plus installation and ongoing maintenance by our Landscape Team.
Help build a Children Play area
Painshill Park is a favourite day out for families and children in the South East, enjoying a unique programme of entertaining week-end activities and holiday fun adventures. To enhance the experience of the families visiting the Park, we are planning to build a children adventure play area including scrambling net, treehouses, slides and much more!
We are currently seeking £5.000 in order to make this project happen.
