Awesome Autumn Activities!

Autumn Art
Not just a great art experience for all year groups but a brilliant way of bonding with classmates to develop communication and team work skills and become good friends at the same time. Our artistic exercises give children the opportunity to work individually, in pairs, in larger groups or as a whole class  to complete a massive masterpiece. All children will enjoy these fun and very active activities, which focus on sensing, experiencing and interpreting Painshill Parks beautiful environment.

Plant Walk
In Autumn, our Plant Walk focuses on the fantastic autumn colour, seeds, nuts and fruit. The grapes will be ripening in the vineyard and fruit will be growing in the Walled Garden, the viberant oranges and yellows of our native English trees the brilliant shades of red of our American and "exotic" trees will be bursting into colour. We will take bright leaf rubbings as we explore and make colourful collages on the forest floor to help us learn about the parts of a plant. There will be all sorts of nuts and seeds so it is time experiment to find out how the seeds disperse and learn the seed dispersal boogie!

Story Telling and Natural Crafts
We have lots of great story telling adventures to choose from. In October you can dress up, make scary masks and hear a spooky story in the Crystal Grotto or Ruined Abbey. Or you can join in with the harvest tale, meet the wonderful wildlife that live in Painshill Park and use natural materials to make a camoflaged animal mask. We also have a fabulous fairy tale trail in which children can hear Painshill's very own fairy tale and act out different scenes in fantastical follies, ruins, towers and turkish tents.
