Visits to Schools

If you can't come to Painshill Park, Painshill Park can come to you!

We have a fantastic range of activities we can bring to your classroom, scout hall or after school club. And while a trip to Painshill is a wonderful, magical experience in itself, the value of the learning achieved here at Painshill can be built upon with a visit from us before or after your day out. We can hold classroom sessions to prepare pupils for their trip at painshill or to build on the learning that has already taken place. Or if you cannot get to us we can hold classroom sessions on a number of topics and subject areas (adhering to the national curriculum) for classes who do not intend to visit painshill or have access issues. We can also guest at school assemblies, presenting exciting, interactive stories about Painshill's ecology or local history to the whole school.

Here are some of the fantastic sessions we can offer...

Meet The Wandering Artist
250 years ago William Gilpin, a famous artist (and school teacher), was inspired by Painshill Park. Find out his story and help him find inspiration and create a master piece when he comes to visit you! With lots of sketching and art.
Back in Time!
Dress up in historical Costumes and sing and dance and play like they did 200 years ago.
Happy Habitats
What wildlife do you have in your school grounds? We will bring our bug hunting kits and digital microscope to take a closer look and have a go at creating some happy habitats for your beasties.
Story Time
Our costumed Story Tellers will tell the tales of Painshill Park! Contact us to find out more!

Sessions can be designed to suit your topics, themes and subject areas. We are always happy to come to your school and discuss session plans and ideas!

In addition we believe we have a role to play within the community of schools local to us and outside of the Summer Term we can offer a limited number of discounted sessions or assemblies to schools in the Cobham area. Contact us for details!
