Community

We believe that Painshill Park has an important role to play in the Community, primarily for the restoration of this exceptional Grade I landscape, its lake, plantings and buildings, and also through our active contribution in the following areas:

Schools from Deprived Areas and with Special Needs: We recognise that there are barriers to entry that may prevent access for some education groups. These may be financial, cultural or the results of social exclusion for pupils from disadvantaged areas. These can also be linked with Special Needs for the pupils. We wish to ‘reach out’ to engage students and pupils from a diverse range of socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, and those with Special Needs. We believe that Painshill Park has animportant role to play enriching the curriculum of these pupils.

Resettlement Project: The Painshill team works with the resettlement unit from a local prison and youth offending team by offering work experience opportunities. This programme gives them a chance to skills, competences, and social awareness in a favourable working environment, therefore facilitating their resettlement in the community. The results have proven beneficial to all concerned.

Students Working Experience: Some school students are given the opportunity to enjoy a working experience at Painshill Park. With the objective of offering a real educational experience, the student programme includes a diverse list of tasks from IT, to administration, education and finance. A special effort is made to offer a vision and understanding of a historical landscape park.

Community Service projects offer a unique learning experience, where getting close to Nature is combined with a team experience, working and sharing efforts with the rest of your group.Painshill Park is the perfect location to organise your service project in relation with Nature.
